This 30-minute class is designed for skaters ages 12 and older from first steps to Stage 5 of CanSkate.

CSA Approved Hockey Helmets are required for all participants in this program.

About Teen/Adult CanSkate

Our Teen/Adult CanSkate program gives skaters ages 12 and older the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of skating at their own pace. The learning environment supports social connections and sense of community needed to thrive as a teen/adult skater. 

While the ice surface is shared with our CanSkate program, the Teen/Adult CanSkate will travel through circuits on the ice, learning at their own pace and with only teen/adult skaters on their circuit. 

• Teen/Adult skaters who have competed two out of three Stage 3 ribbons are welcome to join our Future Stars or Advanced CanSkate program.

• Teen/Adult skaters who have completed Stage 6 are welcome to join our StarSkate program.

This program is for adults who have some skating experience and who want to develop their skating skills. Registration fee includes a 15 minute coach-led group warm up. Skaters must be at an Adult Intro level or lower.

This program is for adults who have figure skating experience and who want to develop their spins, jumps and work on skating programs (solos). Skaters must be at an Adult Bronze level or higher.

The STARSkate program consists of figure skating skills in five disciplines – Skating Skills, Ice Dance, Free Skate, Artistic and Synchronized Skating. Adults may skate on any STARSkate session for which they are qualified.

Synchronized skating, or “synchro” is a specialized discipline of skating involving groups of eight or more skaters performing various group formations and maneuvers. The objective is for the team to perform as one unit executing circles, blocks, lines, wheels and intersections in unison to the music, while demonstrating quality edges, power and flow. Synchronized Skating categories  accommodate skaters at any age and skill level.

Founded in 1985 as the Gloucester Green Machine, Capital Ice A3 is a competitive synchronized skating team currently competing in the Adult Level 3 category. The team is comprised of adult skaters, with ages spanning five decades.
